Crop Over was a originally a festival held by the slaves to celebrate the end of the sugar cane harvest.
In modern times it is now Barbados’ biggest national festival.
The festivities commence in June and concludes the first Monday in August with The Grand Kadooment, a parade of costume band on the streets.

Some of the major events are: The Party Monarch competition , Bridgetown Market Cohobblopot the ‘Pic-o-de-Crop’ and Kadooment.
Some international stars, including Rihanna and Louis Hamilton, are regulars.
