RED BULL TV TO SCREEN LIVE WRC
RED BULL TV WILL BRING A GROUND-BREAKING APPROACH TO COVERAGE OF NEXT SEASON’S NEW-ERA FIA WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP WHEN IT SCREENS EXTENDED LIVE AND HIGHLIGHTS SHOWS FROM ALL 13 ROUNDS.
It will broadcast live action on Saturday from every event as well as three evening highlights programmes from Friday to Sunday.
Leading motorsport stars will co-present the action, beginning with ex-Formula 1 race winner Mark Webber at January’s season-opening Rallye Monte Carlo (19 – 22 January). Experienced WRC journalist Mike Chen will anchor the shows.
Red Bull said it would bring a ‘fresh and exciting approach’ to WRC coverage as the sport enters a new age with more powerful, bigger and aggressive looking cars, and the return of rallying giants Toyota and Citroën.
“There will be dedicated presenters, news, interviews, features and gossip, setting new standards in WRC broadcasting,” it said.
Every Friday a 20 to 30-minute highlights show will be broadcast at 10pm (CET), covering all the first leg action and latest news direct from the service park.
Saturday brings two shows, beginning with a 75-minute midday slot featuring a live stage. That will be followed by an evening highlights programme at 10pm (CET).
Sunday evening features a comprehensive wrap-up show lasting 30 – 40 minutes, presented from the service park and recounting all the weekend’s drama.
“The broadcast package put in place by Red Bull TV for the WRC will include a number of special features and ways of presenting that haven’t been seen before, making viewers feel closer to the high-octane action than ever,” it added.
Coverage will be available free of charge on www.redbull.tv, via mobile, laptop or smart television, or on the dedicated Red Bull TV app on iPhone and Android. All shows will be available on-demand on Red Bull TV post-event.
